Etiquette: My S.O. bought a birthday gift returned/downgraded it then regave it for Xmas. What should I do?

My birthday was at the end of November and my SERIOUS significant other (S.O.) surprised me with a first time expensive gift ($ 900) which was an electronic item that I really needed. I was there when it was purchased--I was surprised while making an impromptu pitstop to the electronic store to use the restroom on Thanksgiving. The gift malfunctioned within two weeks and my S.O. took the gift to return it for a more "reliable" item. We had an unrelated argument the next day (our 1st serious one w/i five months of dating) and when we made up my SO said that they would give me a new one for Xmas. At Xmas I open my gift only to find out that my S.O. exchanged my gift for a much older, slower version and it didn't have all the features of the orginal one; my S.O. also gave me a gift
